Fifth-year player who had a breakout season in 2021 and looks to build on that in 2022… originally came to Carolina as a wide receiver, but has successfully made the transition to cornerback… possesses the size and length that make him an intriguing prospect… has played in 33 games, including 12 starts.
2021 (Redshirt Junior)
Played in all 13 games, starting 12 at the cornerback position… credited with 25 tackles, with 23 were solo stops… logged a pair of tackles for loss including his first career sack against Florida… posted eight pass breakups (second on the squad) and one interception at East Carolina… matched his career high with four tackles at Missouri… notched a pair of pass breakups against both Auburn and Clemson… missed the spring after undergoing shoulder surgery… named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
2020 (Redshirt Sophomore)
Defensive back who saw action in eight contests… used primarily on special teams… missed the Missouri and Georgia games late in the season due to injury… credited with eight tackles, including seven unassisted stops… best game came at Vanderbilt when he was credited with a career-high four tackles… also had two stops each against Texas A&M and Kentucky.
2019 (Redshirt Freshman)
Began fall camp with the wide receivers but transitioned to the secondary midway through fall camp… played in all 12 games, primarily on special teams… credited with three tackles… had two stops versus Charleston Southern and one against Vanderbilt… named to the SEC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
2018 (Freshman)
Redshirted in his true freshman campaign… went through spring drills as an early enrollee… missed extended time in the fall due to injury… named to the First-Year SEC Academic Honor Roll.
HIGH SCHOOL
Prepped at C.E. Murray High School in Greeleyville, S.C., graduating in December 2017… played on both sides of the ball… led the War Eagles to an 11-2 record and the Class A Lower State finals… named the Region 5-A co-Player of Year… caught 47 passes for 863 yards and 17 touchdowns, rushed for 125 yards and a TD and returned a kickoff for a score as a senior… selected to the Shrine Bowl of the Carolinas following his senior season… had 1,243 all-purpose yards and 18 total touchdowns as a junior… rushed for 612 yards and 12 scores and caught 14 passes for 228 yards and three scores… added 36 tackles and two interceptions on defense… coached by Chad Wilkes… ranked 19th overall in the state and is the 151st best wide receiver prospect in the country according to 247’s national composite rankings… Rivals ranked him as the 23rd-best player in the state… named to the PrepStar All-Atlantic Region team.
