Garnet Trust is the official NIL collective for the University of South Carolina. Built on a foundation of passion, trust, and community, we exist to connect Gamecock athletes with the fans and businesses who support them. Our mission is simple: to create meaningful opportunities that empower student-athletes on and off the field while bringing fans closer than ever to the teams they love.

What We Do

Since the introduction of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) rights, college athletics has entered a new era. Garnet Trust leads the way for South Carolina by:

Helping student-athletes leverage NIL opportunities to grow their personal brand, gain financial support, and prepare for life beyond the game.

Creating authentic, impactful partnerships between brands and athletes that drive value for both sides.

Our Past

Initially established in November 2021, Garnet Trust was one of the nation’s first NIL collectives. What began as a part-time passion project has since grown into a full-time operation with three employees and numerous interns from the University of South Carolina’s College of Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management (HRSM).

In the beginning, all funding for NIL opportunities came from generous donors and businesses who hired athletes for local appearances and other services in exchange for compensation.

Our Future

Now, Garnet Trust is transitioning into a full-service marketing agency. We will continue to connect local and national businesses with student-athletes to help promote their brands. Through this new approach, Garnet Trust will provide valuable opportunities for brand growth and equip athletes with skills that will benefit them long after their time on campus.

Our Impact

Every membership, partnership, and contribution to Garnet Trust directly funds NIL opportunities for South Carolina student-athletes. These efforts help our athletes focus on their education and performance while building relationships that last far beyond their college careers. Together, we are shaping the future of Gamecock athletics and ensuring our teams remain competitive on the national stage.
